I have always loved the look of lasercut maps, so ofcource when i got my own lasercutter i had to make one of my hometown Bergen, Norway.

The map is made up of 2 layers frosted acrylic. Bottom layer is the outline of land. Top layer is the roads. The cavity represents water.

It is a very tidious process of tracing a map to get the dxf file that is needed to lasercut.

You can see in the gallery to the left what i used as a reference.

Here is the settings i used:
Speed – 3mm/s
Power – 100%
