Recently i had some trouble with my Form 1+ 3D printer, and i had to send it to England for repair. It turned out to be a defective laser.
When i recieved the repaired unit, someone at the repaircenter messed up the large mirror in the machine. The mirror had small white spots on it that was impossible to clean of.
So the repaircenter sent me a replacement mirror for me to install in the machine, so her is a “How To” write-up of this prosedure.
First i place the machine on the edge of the table, so i could get to the 2 screws on the bottom of the machine.
Then i remove the 2 screws, one on each side of the machine.
I used a flat head screwdriver to gently pry open the front cover.
Then i just let the front cover hang in the breeze by its wires.
When inside the machine you see the back of the large mirror in the middle. Remove the 2 nuts to loosen the mirror from its brackets.
I found it best to use some small pliers to remove the nuts.
Having removed the mirror i can clearly see the white spots spread throughout the surface. Sorry for the bad quality image, but it was next to impossible to get the camera to focus on the mirror surface.
Now that the old mirror is removed i find the new one, that is sandwitched between a couple of pieces of cardboard.
The surface of the new mirror has a protective film covering it.
I gently peeled of the film and mounted the new mirror in the machine following this procedure in reverse order.
